The Annual General meeting of the Karai Welfare Society (UK)

The Annual General Meeting of the Karai Welfare Society (UK) was held on Sunday 22^nd September 20132, at 3.30 PM at the HARROW COUNCIL CHAMBER HALL, Harrow and was chaired by the President Mr P. Thavarajah. It was attended by over fifty members and friends.

The meeting began with prayer and a minute of silences for people who lost their life during the civil war in Sri Lanka.

Following the meeting, the President welcomes the members and highlights current projects. He also spoke about Saba’s works to the KWS and his contribution to the Education trust. He thanked the Secretary and Treasurer for their hard woks.

Secretary presented his annual report which highlighted all KWS (UK)’s all activities during the past twelve months. He also reminded the audience about main aims of the KWS, its history and addressed the importance of the administration, record keeping and fairness.  

Treasurer presented the end of year accounts and that was approved by the members. Treasure also outlined the next year fund allocation and current funding commitments. Proposed fund allocations from the membership subscription are as follows; Library furniture & books – £2000, School & Education – £2000, Ayur Vethas hospital land purchase £2000 (part of total cost), KWS & KAS administration cost £1000 and water related projects £2000.

During the budget allocation, a number of members disputed the fund allocation for the land purchase and have requested that society should donate full cost (i.e. £6000) of the land. President explained the reasons behind the particular amount allocation and other Karai Societies contribution. However those members were dissatisfied with the explanations and walked out as protest and rejoined the meeting. This matter is left to the new committee members to resolve.

Following the meeting the secretary outlined the proposed changes to the KWS-UK constitution that were unanimously approved by the members.  

During the question & answer session, members have raised a number of questions and recommended valuable suggestions & requested the need to improvement in the annual events such as Karai Kathambam & Karai Sangamam.  President has responded to the queries and took on board their suggestions and opinions for the new committee consideration.

During the election of new Committee, The current Executive committee was re-elected with minor changes in their role with new Patrons and a few new trustees.   Details as follow;

பிருத்தானியா காரை நலன் புரிச் சங்கத்தின் ஆண்டு 2013 க்கான பொதுக்கூட்டம்

பிருத்தானியா காரை நலன் புரிச் சங்கத்தின் ஆண்டு 2013 க்கான  பொதுக்கூட்டம் 22/09/2013 லண்டன் மாநகரில் நடைபெற்றது. திரு.சரவணபவான் அவர்களின் தேவாரத்துடன், பிற்பகல் 03:30மணியளவில் தலைவர்  திரு தவராஜா தலைமையில் கூட்டம் ஆரம்பமானது.

நிகழ்ச்சி நிரலில் குறிப்பிட்டதுபோல் நிகழ்வுகள் வரிசைக்கிரமமாக நடைபெற்றது.
நீத்தார் பெருமையுடன் (மௌன அஞ்சலி)  தலைவர் தனது வரவேற்புரையை நிகழ்த்தியிருந்தார்.செயலாளரின் அறிக்கை பொருளாளர் கணக்கறிக்கை அவை முன் அரங்கேற்றி அங்கீகாரம் பெற்றது.

கூட்டத்தில் யாப்பு திருத்தம் முக்கிய இடத்தை பெற்றிருந்தது. யாப்பில் 10 திருத்தங்கள் இனி வரும் நிர்வாக நடைமுறைக்கு கொண்டுவரப்பட்டுள்ளது. 
இவற்றில் ஒரு சில 
**கடந்த கால ஓய்வு பெற்ற மூன்று தலைவர்கள் நிர்வாக சபைக்குள் (போஷகர்களாக) இருந்ததாக வேண்டும்,
** தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்படுபவர் குறைந்த பட்சம் கடந்த 2வருடங்கள் நிர்வாக சபைக்குள் சேவையாற்றி இருக்க வேண்டும் என்பனவாகும்.

டந்த வருடம் இருந்த நிர்வாகசபை ஒருசில மாற்றங்களுடன் மீண்டும் தெரிவு.
