In January 2012, KWS sponsored the first round of cataract surgery in Moolai hospital. Thirty Karainagar people were registered with Karai Abiviruththi Sabai. All thirty people were eye screened by Dr S.Kugathasan and have conducted cataract surgery to 17 people and 5 people were referred to later date to due to other health issues. A further eight people required pair of spectacles.
This project was funded from Varshini Thiagalingam Heath Fund. Total cost for this works was approximately £1700.
Karai Welfare Society would like to continue this project work year on year.
